Get the kids involved

My love of cooking started at a very early age. I can remember from the age of at least 3, helping my grandparents or my mom in the kitchen. They always allowed me to be involved with preparing meals. Because of that, I believe I developed a passion for cooking and entertaining and it’s one thing I would absolutely love to pass onto my children!

Get the kids involved! It especially helps for when we want to introduce them to new, healthy foods. They are far more eager to try the foods they help to make! My son wanted to try his hand at a blueberry and strawberry smoothie so I was pretty excited. It’s usually my daughter who is wanting to be involved with cooking and experimenting in the kitchen!

I had him pull out all the ingredients which included frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, vanilla rice milk and a packet of Sweet Leaf Stevia.

He put 6 frozen strawberries, 1/3 cup of blueberries, 1 cup of the rice milk and a 1/2 pack of stevia in the Vitamix. Starting on variable 1 he quickly increased it to 10 and voila! His smoothie was ready!

I went out today and bought these adorable mason jar shooters from Bed Bath & Beyond and they are the perfect size for kids and so much fun!!
