Chocolate shake for the kids

So a couple of weeks ago I had my beautiful 4-year-old niece and my 2 month old nephew staying with me. I’m laying in bed with my husband and my almost 2-year-old laying in between us when I hear “Titi are you up?” (My nieces call me Titi) I wasn’t awake but now I am. ha ha I bring her downstairs and she asks for a shake. So while I had the opportunity to get some healthy goodness in her I figured I could use this shake opportunity to hide whatever I wanted in there. So here is what I made:

Fiona enjoying her shake

Ingredients:

1 1/2 Cup of Chocolate Almond milk

1/2 of a frozen banana ( when my bananas are starting to turn brown, I remove the peel and place the banana in a ziploc bag and into the freezer)

1 Tsp of Peanut Butter and Chocolate powder

1 Tsp of Cacao powder

A handful of ice

Directions:

Add all of the above ingredients into a blender until smooth, pour and enjoy.

*You can replace almond milk with organic whole milk, soy, coconut or rice

*Use whatever you have at hand. If you wanted to throw in some spinach to get your kids to eat more greens, try it! It’s all trial and error so they might not want to drink the first option but maybe the second one will hit the nail on the head.
