The 21 Day Smoothie Challenge (Day 8-14)

So, how did you do with week 1? We find that replacing a meal with a smoothie is not only a great way to get some nutritional goodness into your body but it is also a great way to take your meal on the road. You can make your smoothie before you head out to work and drink it for breakfast or save it for lunch.

Here’s the Shopping List for this week: (if you started with us last week, you may have some of the ingredients so only buy what you need.)

Raw Cacao Powder

Vanilla Whey Protein Powder

Ground Flaxseed

Ground Hemp Hearts

Chia Seeds

Raw Cacao Nibs

Bunch of Bananas

1 Apple of your choice

1 Cucumber

Fresh Spinach (Wegmans has a great, large organic container)

Coffee

Vanilla Extract

Jar of Raw Honey (Can be found in organic section or honey aisle)

Organic Peanut Butter

Organic Almond Butter

Unsweetened Almond Milk

Coconut Milk

Coconut Water

Apple Juice (Made fresh or bought–if buying, look for Organic)

Carrot Juice (Made fresh or bought–if buying, look for Organic)

Frozen Strawberries (no additives)

Frozen Blueberries (no additives)

Frozen Pineapple Chunks (no additives)

Day 8

Manic Monday

2 tablespoons raw cacao nibs
1 frozen banana
1/2 cup coffee, cooled
4 tablespoons coconut milk
1 1/2 tablespoons raw honey
1/4 tsp of Vanilla extract
1 handful of ice
 
Brew the coffee first to give it time to cool. While your coffee is cooling, add all of the other ingredients together in a blender, or Nutribullet. Once the coffee is cooled, add it to the blender and blend until smooth. Add some cacao nibs on top for an extra crunch.
 

* You can brew the coffee the night before and place it in an ice cube tray. The next morning just pop them out and throw them in the blender.
* If you are not a coffee drinker, add 1/2 a scoop of protein powder (chocolate or vanilla) Mama Kat prefers Vanilla whey protein powder.
 

Day 9

The Elvis Presley

1 Banana
2 Tbsp. of Peanut butter
2 Tbsp. of Almond butter
1 Tbsp. of Flaxseed, ground
1 Cup of Unsweetened almond milk
 
Place all ingredients in a blender, blend until smooth and drink right away!
 

Day 10

The Bunny Rabbit

1 cup of Apple juice
1/2 cup of Carrot juice
1/2 cup of coconut milk
1 Tbsp of Chia seeds
2 ice cubes
Place all ingredients in a blender, blend until smooth and drink right away!
 

Day 11

Berry Yummy Smoothie

1 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 banana
1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
1 cup fresh spinach
2 Tbsp. ground flaxseed
1 1/2 cup coconut milk
 
Place all ingredients in a blender, blend until smooth and drink right away!
 

Day 12

Strawberry Bliss

1 scoop of vanilla whey protein powder
1 1/2 cups of frozen strawberries
2 TBSP of honey
2 TBSP of Hemp Hearts
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 TBSP of Vanilla extract
 
Place all ingredients in a blender, blend until smooth and drink right away!
 

Day 13

Wake Me Up

1 cup coconut water
1/2 cucumber
1/2 apple, seeded
1 banana
1 Tbsp. chia seeds
1/2 cup ice cubes

Place all ingredients in a blender, blend until smooth and drink right away!
 

Day 14

Chocolate Covered Banana

1 Cup Coconut Milk
1 Banana
2 Tbsp. Raw Cacao Powder
1/2 cup Spinach
1 tsp. Raw Honey
2 Ice Cubes

Place all ingredients in a blender, blend until smooth and drink right away!
